The Haas Law Corporation was founded by Stephen C. Haas in 1993. Stephen passed the California Bar Exam in 1972 and practiced in Estate Planning, Real Property, and Civil Litigation in Orange County. In 1991, Stephen and his family moved to Nevada County.
In 2015, Stephen asked his son, Matt Haas, to join his firm in Nevada City. Matt and his wife Kirstin moved to Nevada City and Matt began practicing alongside Stephen .
In December 2017, Stephen Haas retired. He is available to the firm on an advisory basis. Otherwise, he is enjoying retirement. Kirstin and Matt met in law school. Kirstin practiced general Civil Litigation, Personal Injury defense, and Construction Defect defense in Pleasanton and Sacramento until she joined Matt at Haas Law Corporation in April 2018.
Matt handles transactional matters including preparing Wills and Trusts and handling business formation. Kirstin handles pre-litigation and litigation matters including bringing matters through probate, Trust litigation, and conservatorships. Both Matt and Kirstin handle Trust administration.
